The amazing but true story of the only dog that was officially enlisted into British Royal Navy, a Great Dane whose name was Nuisance, his official rank and name was
Just Nuisance AB.
Famed for his preference for the company of navy ratings (he wasn’t too keen on Officers) in and around the famous World War II naval base of Simonstown, South Africa, Nuisance helped many a sailor rejoin his ship after a night on the town.
Today his own statue overlooking the bay off the Cape of Good Hope commemorates AB Just Nuisance.
